Spiritually, people consider Natural Amber to be the keeper of love and fidelity. Amber stimulates the feeling of being happy. It possesses healing qualities. Amber stones are warm when they are touched, they transmit a relaxing smell when it is placed in your hand or worn. Some even believe amber makes women perfect, can attract love. 
Amber in general with all its colors is an exceptional rubbing stone for discharge negative moods, relieving anxiety, deflecting negative energy of others. It generates positive uplifting current of energy.

 

AMBER stones are millions of years old. it glows with golden warmth. AMBER is treasured for its clear beauty and inviting color, AMBER colors range from pale yellow to deep orange and occasionally even green, red, or blue. Most often clear, amber can have smokey swirls within it. Some amber also contains insects or bits of flora. Amber with these inclusions is highly desirable. Amber is an organic gemstone made from tree resin, then preserved for millions of years and turned to stone. Most of the world’s amber is mined in the regions on the coasts of the Baltic and North Seas. When mined in those regions, amber is sometimes called Baltic Gold.  

Amber is considered a gem because it glows and glistens when polished, but Amber is not actually a gemstone. It is the hardened resin of certain types of ancient trees that have been fossilized over millennia. 
Because of its unique properties, Amber has been adorned and studied relentlessly for centuries. It has been widely used for a variety of reasons including jewelry. 
Every Amber gemstone is unique and most likely mined from the Baltic region where most Amber deposits are found. It is estimated that there have been over 105 tons of Baltic Amber produced by the Paleogene forests in Northern Europe. It is the largest known deposit of fossilized plant resin on earth. 
BALTIC AMBER is the highest quality for the preservation of fossil insects.  

Amber Gemstone Colors 

AMBER comes in various colors; most are considered luxurious colors. As the name AMBER implies the most popular and common color is the brownish honey color. There are in fact about 256 identified shades of AMBER colors.  
There is one other color that can be found for AMBER, that is the AMBER blue color, which is known as the Dominican AMBER. In occasions Baltic Amber is treated to have the same deep blue effect. 
AMBER colors are varied and can be in so many shades or colors, but the natural color is we know it to be a form of resin. It is expected for AMBER colors to ranges from yellow, orange, burnt red or copper colors and even sometimes cream or white. AMBER may be of the shades of green or even violet depending on the plant material that was originally preserved.  

Mythology 

The most common information that people shared through the ancient times that the ancient Greeks believed that AMBER was pieces of the sun that had broken off as the sun fell into the sea each night. 

People believe AMBER has electric property. It will produce static energy when rubbed against a cloth, producing sparks, and attracting small particles. For this reason, the ancient Greeks gave it the name ‘elektron, which has become the word for electricity by today’s standards. 

When amber burns, it infuses a gummy smell and aromatic smoke, AMBER was burned during childbirth to cleanse the air and some ancients believed that amber could improve eyesight if the possessor gazed into it. Ancient People used to hang and attach AMBER leather thongs for decoration, protection, and good luck. 

Amber radiates a warm and bright energy, it turns negative energy to positive for emotional calming and centering, alleviates stress, strengthens confidence, eases eccentric behavior and anxiety. 

The power of AMBER has not been validated by science studies, AMBER has been mentioned for its ability to cure all manner of illnesses, draw diseases and has a multipurpose therapeutic substances.

This fine gem is associated with much symbolism including its first use, worn for good luck. It is also thought to provide general protection, particularly from evil. 
Amber is the symbol of renewed and continual faith in marriage and represents the everlasting bond of eternal love. It is also the tenth-anniversary gem. 
In New Age practices, Amber is believed to open the third Chakra to help provide mental clarity, instill confidence and balance moods.

Archeological History.

As we now know that Amber is not really a gemstone, it should be noted that it does take millions of years and proper burial conditions for Amber to form properly. Originally, it was what we know as tree sap, emerging from the tree to heal itself from abrasion. 
Over time, as the sap, or resin hardens, it becomes the translucent, lovely stone that you know today. 
Scientists have been studying Amber for centuries to learn more about extinct species. More than 1000 extinct insect species have been discovered to date. 
Amber has been found in ancient Egyptian tombs dating back to 3200 BCE and thought to have been brought over from the Baltic Coast.
